Detox at Beacon Behavioral
Detoxification is a critical first step in overcoming physical dependence on substances. At Beacon Behavioral, we specialize in medical detox, providing immediate and essential care to help patients begin their recovery journey. Unlike long-term programs like Alcoholics Anonymous, our focus is on the initial phase of detox in a safe and supportive environment.
Why Detox Matters
Detox clears the body of substances and manages withdrawal symptoms under medical supervision. At Beacon, this process typically lasts 5-6 days and is overseen by experienced healthcare professionals committed to patient comfort and care.
The Beacon Difference
We know detox alone isn’t enough. Addiction often stems from deeper, underlying challenges. That’s why our co-occurring treatment approach is so critical—addressing both mental health conditions and substance abuse to uncover the root causes of addiction. This holistic care helps patients achieve long-term stability and recovery.
Our Comprehensive Approach
Beacon’s medical detox is part of a broader continuum of care tailored to meet each patient’s unique needs:
Thorough Assessments: Medical, social, safety, and mental health evaluations ensure no aspect of care is overlooked.
Integrated Care Teams: Psychiatrists and counselors specialize in co-occurring disorders to provide well-rounded support.
Inpatient Support: Individual and group therapy sessions in an acute-care setting foster healing and growth.
Understanding Detox:When Is It Necessary?
Detox may be necessary if you or someone you know experiences:
- Severe withdrawal symptoms
- Physical illness related to substance use
- Inability to stop using despite wanting to quit
- Co-occurring mental health disorders
When to Contact Beacon
Beacon’s medical detox is part of a broader continuum of care tailored to meet each patient’s unique needs:
Seek immediate help if you or someone you know is experiencing:
Suicidal or homicidal thoughts
Psychosis, paranoia, delusions, or hallucinations
Difference Between Rehab and Detox
Detox focuses on removing substances from the body and managing withdrawal symptoms under medical supervision. Rehabilitation (rehab), which follows detox, is aimed at achieving long-term recovery. While Beacon supports behavioral and social aspects of addiction, we specialize in medical detox, not long-term rehab.
